Three seems to be a lucky number for us, I wonder if we will ever have more than 3 original members onstage at the same gig? Anyway… 3 it is! With some expert help on keyboards from Scott Saunders (aka scotch cylinders) he got that name from Mt Buller but that’s another story, we ventured over to Perth W.A. for ‘A Day On The Green’ festival held at a Winery north of Perth.
The flight was long and boring but we arrived safely then drove to our motel just outside the city. We settled in and decided to head into the city for dinner, was it chinese? Yeah and Dave had his best friend (Mr X) with him who could talk the ears off a statue. He also loved to party and do all that Rock an Roll stuff. Great! Hope Dave makes it through the weekend!
Dave and Mr X hired a huge camper van/truck as they were staying on in Perth after the show to ….. holiday. So this became our tour vehicle to the venue, which turned out to be a long drive North out of Perth. We arrived to a beautiful lush Winery set on a few hectares of rolling country side.

The set up here for the bands was excellent, the photo above was taken from the balcony of the Main building on the Winery, the big white tent in front was the VIP section, I think the price was a few hundred dollars but that included a banquet, table service, wine etc. Just left of the growing crowd on the green is the stage. To get there we would drive (in our tour camper) around the side and up to the back of the stage.

We ended up doing this many times after the show : )
We’d party back stage, get hungry, then drive back up to the winery and grab some food. The food laid on for the bands was superb, we had our own BBQ chef a couple of fridges full of drinks and a great view!

One of the main draw cards to the event was ‘The Hoodoo Gurus’
